Locality Development Officer – West 76889 CESE

Norfolk County Council

£30,451 to £32,234 per annum (Scale I)

37 hours per week

Temporary contract/secondment opportunity for 2-year initial contract (extension subject to continued partnership funding)

Active Norfolk is on a mission to Get Norfolk Moving, having recently launched a new 5-year strategy. This strategy outlines the initial steps Active Norfolk will be taking, alongside a broad range of partners across the county, to make physical activity part of everyday life for everyone.

Supporting the implementation of the new strategy, this exciting role will lead a partnership approach to getting more people active across West Norfolk. Working as a combined team with the Borough Council of King’s Lynn and West Norfolk, as well as Alive West Norfolk, as Locality Development Officer you will develop and manage relationships with key stakeholders to support the strategic framework and be responsible for developing an action plan that implements it. Your work will drive resources to where they are need and will make things happen, with an underpinning aim of reducing inequalities and improving lives.

With experience of working with a range of partners and excellent communication and interpersonal skills, you will have the opportunity to shape your work across West Norfolk in conjunction with key stakeholders and shape the role to fit the priorities of Active Norfolk and its partners.

If you have a sincere belief in the difference that physical activity can make to the lives of the people of West Norfolk and are a skilled and experienced professional, we’d love to hear from you.

Active Norfolk is striving to ensure our team reflects the diverse communities we aim to support, so we welcome applications from individuals of any background.

In return we think we have lots to offer. There’s the role itself with the opportunity to truly make your own, and the working environment at Active Norfolk where we put work life balance at the forefront; offering flexible, smarter working arrangements, all underpinned by leading edge technology.

We might be biased, but we think it’s a great role in a great place. If you think you have what it takes, we would love to hear from you.

We anticipate that hybrid working will be a key feature of this role going forward, although we expect the postholder to spend the majority of time working with partners in the Borough. Office space will be available with BCKLWN, Alive West Norfolk and at Active Norfolk’s office in Easton, with occasional work/travel across Norfolk as appropriate.

Our technology platform and equipment are first class, enabling you to connect and collaborate remotely. We ask that you have in place good Broadband connectivity.
