Livelihood Assistant

MAIN ACTIVITIES:

The Livelihood Assistant is responsible for implementing livelihoods projects in the field on daily base activities, liaising with relevant stakeholders, beneficiary’s registration and selection, and monitoring livelihood beneficiaries, for income-generating activities to orphans and caregivers

• Support the implementation of all activities under the livelihood’s portfolio of the orphan and seasonal projects as guided by the project officer, in line with livelihoods technical tools.
• Participate in assessments including labour market assessments and supply chain mapping, under the guidance of the project officer/manager or whos acting in the role.
• Assist in the mapping of service providers for Vocational Training, On-Job-Training, Job Placement, and Farming Training as required. Identify and coordinate with potential private companies for the implementation of job placements, and On-Job-Training.
• Ensure appropriate selection of project beneficiaries by conducting interviews, registering, and profiling applicants using specific criteria.
• Support SIF selected individuals by facilitating orientation meetings, business training, and/or one-to-one counselling sessions as necessary and support them in the formulation of their business plans.
• Travel to project sites on a regular basis to monitor individuals who have received SIF livelihoods assistance, ensure that activities are being carried out in accordance with livelihoods guidelines and provide guidance to the project officer in order to make necessary improvements or changes to livelihoods service delivery.
• Ensure that all distributions of tools and equipment are monitored for both quality and quantity.
• Organize and conduct satisfaction and feedback surveys in order to improve future livelihoods projects.
• In coordination with the project officer, coordinate with the relevant government authorities, business associations and private sector companies to implement SIF`s livelihoods projects.
• Provide verbal and written feedback to supervisor on progress, lesson learnt, achievements and gaps, issues and problems;

• Conducting site/home visits for all areas of intervention.
• Keeping the Project Manager up-to-date on trends, achieved results, planned activities, problems
• Assisting in the creation of any kind of project material, both technical and informational, in Arabic, Kurdish or English; and
• Assist PM in implementation of SIF’s seasonal projects activities as assigned.
• Perform any other tasks as assigned by the Project Officer.

Required Education/Level of studies:

University degree in Business and Administration, Economic, Agriculture, Education, or equivalent field of study.

Professional experience:

Minimum 2-3 years of experience in business and livelihoods projects.

Required Technical and IT skills:   

• Command of IT software packages (MS office/EXCEL):
• Ability to generate assessment templates using google forms, KOBO, ODK
• Ability to use excel is mandatory
• Ability to analyse data

Language Skills:

• Fluency in Kurdish, Arabic English is Mandatory
