Purpose/objective of the position:

 

The main role of the consultants is to identify and train girls and women (about 60 beneficiaries including women and girls (approximately 10 people per month and 15 days) in Erbil and Sulaymaniyah shelters.

The training will serve the beneficiaries to develop competencies in education according to teaching methods and courses in English, which will give them the necessary tools to integrate into the courses, lessons and qualifications necessary to help professionals and can help them to read and write in both languages ​​(English and Arabic) later to open new horizons for them.

Background: The rationale behind this consultation is to train the beneficiaries (refugees, IDPs and host community) to provide them with activities that can support them in finding jobs and creating the required skills

. There will be a division between each group (8 to 10 people max per group).

The objective of this mission is to improve the general technical level of the beneficiaries in order to enhance the development of the learning environment for English and sometimes Arabic.

Generic Duties:

  • Preparing and holding training courses for beneficiaries according to a prepared plan, alternating between literacy lessons and strengthening lessons (for the English language) about 2-3 days a week.
  • Coordination and work closely with life skills trainers when needed.   
  • Take into account the situation in the shelter and adhere to the policies there.
  • Identification of curricula relevant to specific age groups/level and providing relevant technical inputs
  • List the materials together according to the budget for reinforcement courses by coordination with line manager.
  • Ensure that the training schedule is consistent with the contract and class schedule
  • Develop clear plan for the training and materials by coordination with line manager.
  • Participate in the regular meeting with the team.
  • Ensure that the curriculum is well understood and used by the beneficiaries.
  • Supervising survivors in the classroom to improve their pedagogical knowledge.
  • Adaptation to the local context Methodologies and techniques are fully understood.

 

Specific Duties:

  • Proven practical experience as a trainer (literacy) with modern trainer techniques or an expert in modern teaching methods and mythology

Previous experience in an institute or schools to teach literacy skills

  • Knowledge of modern teaching methods and methods
  • Ability to provide customized services based on each client’s requirements

Qualifications & Preferred Skills

 

Person Specification:

Education and professional experience:

  • High school diploma or college diploma.
  • Graduated from the college for the Department of (English Language) is plus.
  • An educational certificate related to educational methods.
  • Previous experience (at least one year) in a similar position with international and national organizations and government authorities is plus.
  • Preparation of documents during training sessions (attendance sheet, pre- post test, …. etc.)
