Job Purpose

The Liaison Officer plays a critical role in establishing and maintaining strong relationships between the NGO and its stakeholders. This position serves as a key point of communication between the organization, partners, government officials, and other relevant external entities. The Liaison Officer ensures smooth collaboration and effective communication, facilitating understanding and cooperation to support the organization’s mission and objectives.

Key Responsibilities

1: Relationship Management and Communication

  1. Establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including partners, government officials, and other relevant entities.
  2. Facilitate clear and effective communication between the NGO and its stakeholders.
  3. Coordinate meetings, discussions, and negotiations as needed.

2: Advocacy and Representation

  1. Represent the NGO in meetings, conferences, and events.
  2. Advocate for the NGO’s mission, programs, and beneficiaries in discussions with stakeholders.
  3. Promote the NGO’s reputation and credibility through constructive dialogue and collaboration.

3: Reporting and Documentation

  1. Maintain accurate records of interactions and agreements with stakeholders.
  2. Prepare and present reports on liaison activities to senior management.
  3. Ensure all documentation related to stakeholder relationships is accurate and up-to-date.

4: Compliance

  1. Ensure the NGO’s operations comply with all relevant regulations and adhere to ethical standards.
  2. Stay abreast of changes in legislation, policy, or stakeholder positions that could impact the NGO, informing senior management as necessary.

5: Collaborative Support

  1. Facilitate collaborative projects or partnerships between the NGO and its stakeholders.
  2. Identify opportunities for cooperation, partnership, or mutual support.
  3. Resolve any issues or conflicts that may arise in the NGO’s relationships with its stakeholders.

Note: the above-mentioned key responsibilities/accountabilities are illustrative ones. Other future responsibilities/accountabilities may be assigned to the job depending on the department organizational chart.

Qualification (Education/Work Experience/Languages)

  1. Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Business Administration Public Relations, or Communication. A Master’s degree is a plus.
  2. A minimum of 3 years of experience in Operations Department, preferably within the NGO sector and with a focus on women’s empowerment and gender equality.
  3. Familiarity with the regional context of Syria and the challenges faced by women in the area.
  4. Strong team management skills and experience working with remote teams.
  5. Proficiency in English , Arabic and Turkish .
  6. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
  7. Ability to work in Turkey legally, Turkish Nationals are preferred.
