The Legal Counsel D&T will be dedicated to advise HEINEKEN’s IT department (Digital and Technology). As we aim to become a data driven company, we have enrolled impactful global IT and data programmes. Including large AI initiatives. You are key to make sure that we apply state of the art and reliable technology and get value for money. We believe that deploying technology and using data comes with responsibilities. We can only achieve our goals and get the best out of technology and data if we cooperate. Therefore, you will also work closely together with other experts at the legal department. For example, our data and privacy specialists or patent and innovation experts. We are one team and speak with one voice.

Your responsibilities

As Legal Counsel Digital and Technology you will:

• Provide legal support to strategic D&T projects and as such has exposure to senior D&T management, ET and EB on D&T related legal issues (including fund applications)
• Engage with different senior D&T, HGP and OpCo stakeholders (including D&T and OpCo MT members) and provide specialistic legal advice on various complex technology and data topics (e.g., Data management, IT security and Cloud contracting) in order to ensure IT compliancy and minimise risk management
• Act as lead lawyer responsible for large deals with key suppliers with spent over EUR 50mio, AO OBS, Accenture and IBM, TCS, Infosys
• Advice and coach colleagues within D&T, global legal affairs, cyber security leads and privacy officers on legal aspects of a variety of technology and data subjects (privacy, Artificial Intelligence, IT networks, IT security etc.)
• Participate as subject matter expert for IT matters that can have a negative impact on Heineken’s reputation if not handled correctly (IT security breaches, Data Process Agreements, Privacy Requests etc.) and acts as liaison to the Global Privacy team to ensure compliance with global privacy regulations
• Participate as lead lawyer in strategic D&T projects, that have a global impact

Your profile

• To be cost-aware
• Have a university (civil) law degree
• Have 5+ years as qualified lawyer or experienced inhouse IT legal counsel
• Demonstrated experience with legal advice and commercial contracting in technology and data related matters preferably at a large multinational or law firm with clients in multiple jurisdictions.
• Have experience in other technology related fields (AI, data protection, data localisation, blockchain, data management, IT security, etc.
• Have in-depth knowledge of emerging IT trends
• Excellent English language and contract and advice drafting skills: Dutch speaking is a plus.
