Leasing Associate needed… Paying $18 an hour

This position is responsible for interviewing and processing applicants for all new and current Low Income Housing Tax Credit lease-ups within the Leasing and Marketing department. The Leasing Associate will screen and process applicants for affordable housing units in this role. In addition, they will conduct various job-related duties in compliance with LIHTC guidelines, other housing contracts, and equal housing opportunity laws.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/ JOB DESCRIPTION

 

Prepare/Send/Track email correspondence to eligible applicants update

Interview Applicants /Collect and review verification documents submitted by applicants for completion and accuracy

Collect and complete all required certification documents pertaining to qualify applicants households

Perform credit/criminal background checks, determine initial eligibility of applicants and send initial review initial verifications of applicants’ housing/income/assets and 3rd party verifications

Income and compliance certify applicants for unit assignment and HDC/HPD/HFA/DHCR/HCR/HOME submission

Perform other related duties as assigned (e.g., unit showings, lease signings, reporting, administrative tasks, preparing subsidy packets, scanning and uploading initial certification files, preparing final file folders for compliance review and primary office delivery, etc.)

Daily updating of file tracking sub-log for accurate applicant reporting

Perform data entry for affordable housing lotteries for all new projects by using “NYCHDC Housing Connect 2” website

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum 2+ years affordable housing experiencing work directly with Low Income Housing Tax Credit programs

Experience with NYC Housing Connect 2

Good organization, project management and time management abilities

Efficient problem solving and decision-making skills

Bi-lingual skills and strong mastery of Microsoft Office
