Organizational Setting

The Human Resources Division (CSH) develops, recommends and facilitates the implementation of human resources policies, procedures and services and advises management on appropriate measures and strategies to ensure that the Organization attracts, develops and retains a diverse, skilled and highly motivated workforce. CSH administers the Organization’s human resources management programmes, in particular in the areas of human resources policy development, position management, recruitment, mobility, training and social security.

The purpose of this call is to identify suitable qualified and experienced PSA Subscribers to populate a roster for the Learning and Performance Branch.

Reporting Lines

Selected applicants will work under the overall guidance of the Senior Human Resources Officer, and under the direct/functional supervision of the Human Resources Officer, working in close collaboration with other FAO Divisions.

Focus: Research, compile information and provide support in: Language Training and Corporate Training Programmes

Tasks And Responsibilities

The PSA will contribute and provide support to the implementation of CSH’s global learning portfolio according to the latest Learning & Development trends and best practices.

Responsibilities

Given the broad skillset and expertise required, the assigned tasks and responsibilities related to the Learning Specialist may include one or more of the following:

  • Assist with tender processes for vendor selection and support the monitoring of deliverables
  • Support the development and provision of logistics for the delivery of workshops and training programmes
  • Research and compile information and statistics related to staff development and language training activities
  • Assist in the selection and recruitment of training service providers / language teachers
  • Answer and follow-up on a variety of training requests and enquiries from staff and non-staff related to language training and language examinations
  • Take minute of meetings with language teachers
  • Assist in organizing language courses
  • Support in the data entry and tracking of records in relevant HR and learning management systems
  • Work on various learning related reporting for planning, monitoring and evaluation purposes
  • Collect and research background information on innovative learning solutions
  • Perform other functions as required

CANDIDATES WILL BE ASSESSED AGAINST THE FOLLOWING

Minimum Requirements

  • University or Technical degree in Learning and Development, Learning Technology, Adult Education, Communication, Languages or related field.
  • At least 1 year of experience in supporting the development and delivery of learning and training programmes
  • Working knowledge of English.

  • Demonstrated experience in working across different phases of a project.
  • Experience in supporting the rollout of learning and development programmes.
  • Working experience in UN agencies and/or other international organizations would be an asset.
