Main role and responsibilities
As L&D Officer, you will be responsible for supporting all L&D solutions deployed across the organisation in collaboration with the L&D team. You will design and deliver high-quality solutions to address identified learning needs, ensuring your efforts support the organisations aims, objectives and values. As a deployable role, you may be asked to deploy to response projects either in a training or response team role, as appropriate.
Duties will include but not be limited to
- Work in collaboration with the Learning and Development team to support learning needs assessment activities as required by the L&D Business Partners
- Support the development of the L&D team plans to enable the delivery of agreed L&D solutions across all areas of the business
- Work with relevant stakeholders across the organisation to support the design and delivery of L&D solutions as required
- Support the design of L&D solutions to address identified needs to enable delivery within agreed timeframes
- Ensure L&D solutions are innovative and relevant, drawing on best-practice, adult-learning theories, and models, utilising external support where required
- Deliver learning solutions using a variety of formats, including face-to-face, virtual, webinar, knowledge management, coaching and mentoring
- Ensure all L&D solutions have a complete set of supporting resources such as: course specification, unit specification, trainer notes, risk assessments, project plan, etc
- Support the management of end-to-end L&D solutions, ensuring all processes and quality assurance mechanisms are followed
- Manage course participants and supporting delivery team during any course delivery, offering feedback, coaching and mentoring as required
- Support the costing of L&D solutions, ensuring all expenses are captured and recorded using agreed formats
Other responsibilities
- Promote humanitarian principles throughout your work
- Ensure diversity and inclusion principles are mainstreamed through L&D solutions
- Travel in the UK and abroad as required. Unlikely to exceed 1 month in duration at any one time – this may be for training or deployment
- Support wellbeing initiatives across the organisation, such as TRiM practices
- Any other duties as required and agreed by the Head of Learning & Development as deemed appropriate to the level and grade of the role
