The Learning & Development Specialist oversees the design, development, implementation, facilitation and evaluation of Learning & Development activities, resources and systems. This includes Learning Management System oversight, onboarding elearning and orientation programming, leadership and management capacity building, department learning intervention consultation, and other strategic People and Culture staff capacity building initiatives.

Responsibilities:

  • Management and maintenance of CARE Academy
    • Maintain ownership and oversight of CARE’s Learning Management System (LMS), CARE Academy to manage, administer and support the day to day operation, usage, and analysis of elearning at CARE.
  • Training Coordination
    • Coordinate activities related to virtual instructor led (VIL), in-person (f resumed) and blended learning interventions. These activities may include: communications planning, technical platform management, budget management, facilitation, oversight of participant travel logistics, and vendor management. Develop learning manuals, pre-work and course evaluation procedures.
  • Orientation & Onboarding Elearning management
    • Provide leadership on CARE US-based Orientation programs, ensuring orientation is up to date, relevant and meets new hire needs on a monthly basis
  • Learning and Development Department Support
    • Develop marketing material and communications in conjunction with other People & Culture team members to promote relevant courses or learning opportunities (internal or external) in a timely manner.
  • Perform other reasonable duties as assigned by People & Culture leadership.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Continuing education or certificates in elearning technology, adult learning, pedagogy, or workforce capacity building
  • 3-5 years’ experience in learning and development and/or talent management
  • Willingness to travel globally (if resumed)
  • 3-5 years experience in building and managing in-person, virtual instructor led, and blended learning training content, including prior experience with the Articulate 360 suite
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including 3-5 years of proven learning-oriented facilitation experience.
  • Experience working with or managing a Learning Management System
  • Knowledge of adult learning principles
  • A commitment to creating equitable learning opportunities for diverse global audience
  • Flexible and available to interact with employees at all levels, including senior leadership.
  • Proactive in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment. Ability to work independently to drive results.
  • Focused and disciplined. Strong organizational and project management skills. Strong attention to detail
  • Experience managing program budgets
  • Experience training and/or facilitating in non-Western countries
  • Comfort with Spanish, French and/or Arabic is a plus
