The Team
This team is accountable for the largest product portfolio in the business and plays a key role in the overall success of the business. We are experiencing high growth in the portfolio through both new products and expansion into new retailers internationally. This is an opportunity to be part of a team who develop ground-breaking decision-making capability for Retail/FMCG clients in areas such as customer insights, pricing and promotions optimisation, ranging, supply chain optimisation and targeted marketing.
The role
The goal of this role is to drive the commercial success of our Retail Product portfolio with ASDA and their suppliers. You’ll be responsible for all business and market-facing aspects of the product in the UK and has a strong focus on users and customers, including having of a deep understanding of customer needs; developing a compelling vision for the product aligned to the strategic business objectives; managing senior stakeholders; developing roadmaps and prioritising features that maximise user value.
As well as playing a vital business and market-facing role, you will work collaboratively with a cross-functional squad of data scientists, engineers, business analysts and UX designers to define valuable increments of the product and develop product management artefacts.
You will develop, implement and continuously improve our go-to-market strategy for our products, ensuring product-market fit, as well as seeking additional customer insight to better develop the product.
Your partnering and influencing skills will be needed for this role, as well as your ability to work effectively in ambiguous environments while focusing on your ideal outcome.
About You
We are looking for you to bring your well-rounded product management experience, commercial acumen and customer-centric user focus to the team on day one. We know people aren’t bullet points and can come from all types of backgrounds but here are some datapoints to give you an idea of what experience we think will set someone up for success in this role:
- Experience in a senior product management role with a proven track record of delivering world class B2B products at scale
- Ideally, you will have experience in an environment of technical complexity
- Experience using User Centric Design, Lean and Agile methodology or similar ideas / philosophies
- Able to quickly pick up complex concepts and deploy them to good effect when describing the product as an SME
- Well-developed senior stakeholder management and influencing skills
- Strong commercial acumen able to operate with autonomy with local and global matrix teams
- Ability to identify, validate, translate and convey customer problems and commercial outcomes to the Engineering team
- Sharp problem-solving skills with experience partnering with clients and stakeholders to solve commercial problems using a data driven approach
- Superior presentation and communications skills (written and verbal)
- Degree qualified; postgraduate qualifications highly valued
