Position Summary:
As the lead mortgage loan officer you will be responsible for engaging with credit union members, team mates and prospects to further our core values of Caring: Compassion, Accountability, Real value, Integrity, New ideas and Guidance while increase mortgage production.
Responsibilities:
Take mortgage applications in person or over the phone as needed. Must take full and detailed 1003.
Calls applicants same day as application received. If calls and no answer, leave a voicemail, send a text AND an email. Follow up is key
Withdraws/cancels/denies & discloses loans according to procedure and in compliance with all mortgage lending regulations & time frames
Provides complete loan application packages for submission to processing
Guides borrower through loan processing and assists in obtaining necessary documents from borrower to close/fund the loan.
Helps obtain processing and underwriting conditions within 24- 48 hours. Assists loan processor in gathering conditions as needed
Updates borrower & realtors weekly once loan has been submitted to processing
Achieves productions goals as established by PrimeWay FCU
Visit PrimeWay retail centers at least 3 times a week to be available for walk in members or appointments. Meets in person with members as needed.
Cross sells all PrimeWay FCU products (CDs, auto loans, HELOCs, unsecured, credit cards, etc.)
Maintains a current & manageable pipeline and always leaves notes in files so all team members can be up to date on the file. Will be responsible for maintaining multiple pipelines of business.
Update both realtors on a purchase transaction throughout loan process on a weekly basis.
Attend borrowers’ closings when able
Available for community events as needed.
Able and willing to work on weekends. This position assumes full time hours of M-F 8:30- 6pm and Saturdays from 9 am to 2pm.
Is part of weekly team meetings and updates sales manager and loan processor as needed.
Take ownership of the referral que and strive for call back turn times within 1 hour.
Be available to credit union retail centers for mortgage questions/guidance.
Responsible for developing relationships and business both internally and externally
Knowledge and Skills
Ability to take a strong 1003 application and prescreen applicants over the phone or in person as needed.
At least 1 year of experience working with Encompass
Familiar with Quicken loans/ Rocket mortgage – capable of selling points. Understands lender paid vs borrower paid compensation along with all points/fees, Texas 2% test, QM and safe harbor guidelines.
Strong understanding of FHA & Conventional guidelines. Experience with non-conforming portfolio products a plus
Prior experience of successfully meeting sales goals.
Attitude skill set: Must have the ability to learn as you go, stay calm in high stress situations and be flexible/ open to new ideas and change. Can function well in a high volume/ fast paced setting.
Education and Experience
• High school education or GED 6 months – 2 years relevant experience
• Current Mortgage Loan Officer: 3+ years experience
ADA Requirements
• Perform primarily sedentary work with limited physical exertion and occasional lifting of up to 5 lbs. Must be capable of climbing/descending stairs in emergency situation. Must be able to operate routine office equipment including telephone, copier, facsimile, and calculator. Must be able to routinely perform work on computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day. Must be able to work extended hours whenever required or requested by management. Must by capable of regular, reliable and timely attendance.
