The positionBy joining our team in Legal you will have the opportunity to-

  • Advise on and develop the permitting strategy for Equinor’s multi-billion dollar offshore wind development projects
  • Work with various internal teams and liaison with federal, state and local agencies to advance our current projects offshore New York and future projects in US coastal waters
  • Support new business development opportunities across our renewable energy portfolio throughout US
  • Help develop the broad global renewable portfolio of Equinor using expertise in environmental and permitting issues
  • Devise and implement litigation strategies regarding the above

  • 7-10 years’ experience with matters related to permitting and consenting in the power generation sector.
  • Experience with federal and state permitting agencies including BOEM, USACE, NMFS, NYDEC
  • Working knowledge of NEPA, OCSLA , ESA, SEQRA
  • Strong business judgment and ability to work with limited supervision
  • Experience with power/energy sector required (renewable energy preferred)
  • Perform diligence and provide diligence guidance to development teams and external counsel regarding project acquisition and greenfield development
  • Effectively and efficiently engage and manage outside counsel
  • Provide general legal counsel and strategic guidance to senior and executive level management
  • High level of intellectual, professional and interpersonal agility and flexibility, with strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills
  • Ability to engage with external stakeholders including governmental agencies, NGO’s community representatives.
