  • Currently enrolled in a Faculty of Law program at an accredited post-secondary institution
  • Strong legal research skills and computer literacy
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well in a team environment
  • Student Legal Services experience, particularly court experience, would be an asset
  • Ability to work independently with confidence under time constraints
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, and decision-making skills
  • Excellent verbal, negotiating, and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability using Microsoft Office Suite and Google Apps

Please Note

  • Pursuant to Law Society Rules, the City will consider summer students as candidates for articling with the City of Edmonton.
  • All applicants will need to provide a cover letter, resume, updated law school transcripts for 2nd or 3rd year applicants, or university transcripts for 1st year applicants, and the names of two references, along with proof that you are enrolled in the 2022-2023. Academic Year First year law students will have to provide undergraduate transcripts.

Hired candidates must meet the eligibility requirements of the funder:

  • Applicants must be First Nation, Métis, or Inuit
  • Currently enrolled in a Faculty of Law program at an accredited post-secondary institution

Hours of Work: 40 hours per week, Monday – Friday

The weekly hours of work for this position are currently under review and may change at a future time. Any changes will be made in accordance with the City of Edmonton/Civic Service Union 52 collective agreement and the incumbent will be notified in advance.

Salary: $19.749 – $25.135 (Hourly)
