Job Summary

Develop & implement sustainability strategy and projects for Korea in support of global sustainability goals within key strategic framework. Closely collaborate with J&K OU(Operating Unit)’s Networked Sustainability Team in supporting the OU’s implementation of long-term sustainability goals. In particular, this role leads engagement with all non-government stakeholders, including (both convergent & divergent) customers, suppliers, communities, academics, NGOs, et cetera to build the company’s reputation as a responsible business partner focused on sustainable growth.

Working as part of the networked team coordinating across PACS, Technical (SRA & QSE), Finance and Marketing lead where relevant, this individual will support to drive sustainability agenda as KO system in Korea. Ensure achieve sustainability goals described in ABP(Annual Business Plan) closely working with bottling partners. Also proactively identify and build relationships/partnerships that support sustainable business growth, including our sustainability goals as well as managing Coca-Cola Foundation allocations from Atlanta to appropriate partners. Focus areas are:

  • Environment: sustainable packaging, water, climate
  • Community: local relevant sustainability initiatives
  • Inclusion: local relevant D&I agenda

KeY SUCCESS PARAMETERS

Experience

Bachelor’s degree required, master’s degree in environmental sustainability area or communications preferred; minimum of 5 years’ experience in public affairs & communications in public, private or NGO sector; some subject-matter expert knowledge of at least one sustainability issue (climate, water, plastic waste preferred); Collaborating with NPO/NGOs and academics; Working understanding across multi-cultural, matrixed organization; Developed stakeholder network; Good interpersonal skills with ability to communicate complex issues to drive tangible business actions; Proficiency in both Korean and English

Work Focus

  • Lead Sustainability in Action: Bring key sustainability initiatives including World Without Waste, water replenishment projects, community contributions into life by partnering with the most relevant and appropriate organizations
  • Strategic prioritization: In partnership networked partners, provide policy input for engagement with stakeholders on sustainability-related issues
  • Partners & NGO outreach: Identification, development, negotiation, management, system engagement/alignment and execution of partnerships; Leadership and corporate representation on local/regional collaborative associations and organizations; Engagement with NGOs and civil society actors to help the system manage relationships & reputation.
  • Recognized Leadership: Internal and external (industry-wide) recognized sustainability expert and thought-leader; Proactively identify external public speaking opportunities, media interviews on sustainability issues, sponsorship programs
  • Provide in-market support: With customer and marketing management teams, provide strategic sustainability management and strategic advice on collaborative efforts

Communication Focus

  • Story telling through earned, owned and social media
  • Support communicator with BOTH convergent & divergent stakeholders (NGOs, investors, communities, academics);
  • Internal communicator to build consensus, ensure alignment and buy-in from key stakeholders.
  • Stakeholder mapping to determine most influential and effective partners, including managing local chapters of global partnerships.
