We are looking for a Knowledge Management Specialist to join our Learning and Support Team in North Wilkesboro, NC. As part of the International Projects Department, this role manages and organizes content and knowledge and consults our Technical Advisors on how to best utilize our knowledgebase. You will build department capacity to identify, share, access, and utilize technical knowledge, promote learning content, and advise teams on content management efforts. A day in the life of a Knowledge Management Specialist:

In the role of Knowledge Management Specialist, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Maintain your personal relationship with Jesus Christ and be an effective witness for Him
  • Advise and build capacity of internal subject matter experts to capture, curate, and disseminate organizational knowledge.
  • Serve as the primary technical administrator of the Projects internal knowledge base, including systems configuration and maintenance, technical troubleshooting, content organization, system onboarding and training.
  • Provide technical guidance on document and content management, creation, distribution, and revision.
  • Exhibit an extensive understanding of Knowledge Management principles and take creative steps to apply them in challenging contexts. For example: sharing information to offices with very low internet bandwidth, sharing information in areas with low literacy rates, and ensuring accessibility and version control for documents available in multiple languages.
  • Facilitate dissemination of organizational and technical knowledge and learning content at various stages of the employee lifecycle through knowledge repositories, webinars, learning exchanges, and internal communication plans.
  • Lead efforts to research world-class knowledge management techniques, processes, and materials developed by other organizations and governmental agencies.
  • All other duties as assigned

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information or Library Sciences, Organizational Development, or related field and three (3) or more years of knowledge or content management experience in a corporate, nonprofit, or civil service position; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Thorough knowledge of knowledge management theory and best practice, specifically within the humanitarian sector
  • Ability to identify and deploy knowledge sharing technologies or technology infrastructure solutions, such as curating knowledge repositories, maximizing the technical capacity of the knowledge base, and building virtual communities of practice
  • Ability to assess problems related to organizational knowledge and provide timely insights and creative solutions
  • Ability to identify and capture tacit and explicit knowledge from individuals, groups, and projects
  • Written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to balance a diverse variety of job responsibilities and stakeholders simultaneously
  • Ability to build trust quickly through professionalism, empathy, and humble expertise
  • 12 credit hours of college-level Biblical Studies (required)

Type: Full- Time

Language Requirement: Fluency in English (required)

Travel Expectations: Infrequent domestic or international travel; required travel documents and vaccinations for entry into foreign countries will be necessary
