Position Description

EnCompass LLC is seeking a Knowledge Management and Gender Specialist II for working with long-term and short-term staff, USAID, and other stakeholders to implement the knowledge management (KM) plan for the Advancing Women’s Empowerment Project (AWE), Cadre Development and Training (CDAT) Activity, and ADVANTAGE (Advancing the Agenda of Gender Equality) Comprehensive Training, Learning, and KM Services task order, with an emphasis on internal learning and application, and to lead project communications and disseminate deliverables and knowledge products using existing online platforms.

The ideal candidate has a background in strategic communications and KM for global development programs, a strong understanding of USAID’s approaches to communication and/or KM, gender, and adult learning approaches. They are highly organized, creative, and able to produce and coordinate communications across platforms to a wide array of audiences.

This is a full-time, remote position. (US-based position)

Position Duties and Responsibilities

Essential functions include:

· Implement knowledge management plans for USAID projects and manage two communities of practice which include reviewing and distributing documents to the communities and developing strategies to make the communities interactive.

· Generate learning resources to share with clients and inform future project activities; establish and maintain clear communication channels for collaborating, learning, and adapting

· Accountable for ongoing communications, knowledge management, and community of practice activities or objectives for assigned projects; Coordinate and maintain project Agrilinks and other project activity pages and communities of practice

· Oversee monthly and quarterly newsletter development and other knowledge management and communications products and tools

· Conduct stakeholder research to identify effective approaches to gathering and disseminating technical information

· Coordinate with USAID knowledge management points of contact

· Maintain, update, and expand a stakeholder database

· Support periodic webinars and social media campaigns

· Liaise with industry stakeholders to cross-promote project products

· Support development of project deliverables as appropriate

· Ensure all deliverables align with project Branding Implementation and Marking Plan

· Participate in project team meetings as required

· Other duties as assigned

Position Requirements

Qualifications

· Bachelor’s degree and 7 years of experience, or a master’s degree and 5 years of experience.

Experience and Skills

· Strong technical skills in knowledge management, facilitation, communications, and/or training

· Strong technical knowledge of gender and the agriculture and/or peacebuilding sectors

· Direct experience supporting USAID programs and communications, implementing knowledge management plans, and capacity strengthening activities for USAID, and expertise in online dissemination and virtual platforms. Familiarity with Agrilinks or similar platforms preferred

· Direct experience establishing, strengthening, managing, and/or facilitating communities of practice or learning networks preferred

· Attention to detail, accuracy, and strong time management skills, including ability to manage competing deadlines across multiple project teams

· Excellent writing and editing skills and experience in formatting documents and using graphics effectively

· Success operating in a highly collaborative team environment, and ability to work in an environment committed to appreciative, strengths-based approaches

· Ability to develop and maintains client relationships at various leadership levels

· Experience developing solutions and improvements to processes within area of responsibility

· Proficiency in English required
