Job Description
We are looking for a highly motivated research associate for a 2-year fixed term position to work within a research team on an exciting study funded by the EPSRC digital health sandpit looking at the use of ecological momentary assessment (EMA) and biosensors to better understand the effective ingredients of peer support for family caregivers.
This programme of work is led by Professor Louise Rose, who is the Chief Investigator and also a Head of the Research Division Applied Technologies in Clinical Care at the Florence Nightingale Faculty of Nursing, Midwifery and Palliative Care (NMPC) at King’s College London.
The post-holder will have responsibility for the operational management of the Life Lines programme, including co-ordinating and ensuring timely delivery of all work-packages, line-managing research and administrative staff employed on the programme, assisting in budgetary management, monitoring progress, and capturing impact, and preparing and submitting reports to funders and other stakeholders. They will also take a lead role in co-ordinating research and dissemination activities and maintaining excellent working relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders
The post holder will work closely with the research team and provide the necessary infrastructure and expertise to support the delivery of the project under the supervision of Professor Louise Rose.
Applicants should have a PhD degree or equivalent preferably in a health/psychology-related field and experience in research conduct. Experience in research governance and ethics, participant recruitment, data collection, maintaining quantitative research databases and qualitative interviewing and analysis skills are required. Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail are essential as are strong communication skills and ability to multi task at a fast pace are required.

Key responsibilities
Responsible for day-to-day project conduct, coordinating recruitment and data collection activities, and ensure study integrity and overseeing research governance and working in partnership with the research team
Ensuring project and documentation maintain good practice in relation to research conduct
Assist with participant recruitment activities
Assist with data collection and management (both quantitative and qualitative)
Contribute to data analysis
Contribute to development of study materials, report writing, peer reviewed publications, and future grant applications
Dissemination activities including social media
Coordinate team meetings and activities.

Essential Criteria
PhD degree in relevant discipline i.e. psychology or health related.
Experience of working on a research team in a health/psychology setting.
Knowledge of Good Clinical Practice and research governance.
Experience with Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Endnote, NViVO or statistical analysis packages.
Excellent organisational skills and time management.
Excellent communication skills both oral and written.
Confidence with digital technology.
Experience conducting clinical research
Desirable criteria
Experience in the delivery of clinical trials and working with studies on the CRN Portfolio.
Experience working with patient reported outcomes including ecological momentary assessment (EMA)
Please note that this is a PhD level role but candidates who have submitted their thesis and are awaiting award of their PhDs will be considered. In these circumstances the appointment will be made at Grade 5, spine point 30 with the title of Research Assistant. Upon confirmation of the award of the PhD, the job title will become Research Associate and the salary will increase to Grade 6.
