Position Overview

Kiewit has an immediate opening for anIntermediate Drainage Engineer in our growing offices in Burnaby, BC. The Intermediate Drainage Engineer, with a focus in municipal engineering, will work on an interdisciplinary team including: geotechnical engineers, structural engineers, transportation engineers, estimators, schedulers and construction experts to perform engineering analysis and design in support of design-build pursuits and ongoing projects.

Location

This role will be based in our Burnaby, BC Office.

Responsibilities
Preliminary and detailed civil engineering design works for roads, storm drainage, sanitary sewers, and portable/fire water system
Hydrologic and hydraulic calculation and modelling using computer software such as PC SWMM, XP SWMM etc.
Prepare engineering reports
Field engineering works which include field review, providing response to site queries, shop drawings review, coordinating with site team, attending site meetings etc

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
6+ years post-graduate experience in civil/municipal design.
Design experience on Design-Build project preferred
Must have excellent written and oral communication skills in English & the ability to work with individuals at all levels of the organization and support project efforts
The candidate will support plan production, specifications, estimate and design development
Knowledge of municipal and provincial standards and specifications such as MMCD, TAC Design Guidelines/Manuals, and other municipal design standards.
Software experience includes: PC SWMM/XP SWMM or similar 3D stormwater modeling, AutoCAD, Civil 3D.
Professional Canadian registration required
