Junior Reporter

Labiotech.eu (https://www.labiotech.eu/) is a digital media covering the biotech industry worldwide. Launched in 2014, Labiotech.eu is now read by over 100,000 biotech professionals every month.

Our mission is to provide accurate and accessible information to this industry. We believe that through our work, biotech professionals are able to stay informed and collaborate more easily. Ultimately, the whole industry and its innovations benefit from the independent journalism we provide.

To help us in our mission, we’re looking for a new Junior Reporter to join our editorial team.

Full training will be available for any areas of inexperience.

In this role, you will:

• Report on biotech news to an audience of professionals
• Develop contacts and newsfeeds and collaborate with the news team on coverage
• Work with deadlines
• Occasionally cover events
• Collaborate with other members of the team on projects as required
• Help cover when other team members are at events or on vacation

What we require:

• You are a native English speaker or equivalent
• A journalism degree is preferred, as is some writing experience (please provide a portfolio and/or links if available)
• You have excellent written English skills and a keen eye for detail
• You have a strong interest for science and the biotechnology field
• You are autonomous, can manage your own assignments, and collaborate with others
• You have excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
• You can work in a remote environment
• You welcome feedback, have a positive attitude, and love to learn
• Multimedia work will be required at times, so experience is a plus, but training is available
