Making for Change is London College of Fashion’s training and manufacturing initiative.  Working with local communities in East London and women in prison, we aim to break barriers to employment and change the way people think about fashion production.

Making for Change is seeking a Junior Production Machinist to support the development of its new ethically focused manufacturing enterprise, which focuses on up-cycling, zero-waste and responsible employment practices, sharing our values with the network of designers, charities and small businesses we work with.

This is an exciting opportunity to develop and enhance your working knowledge as a junior production machinist. You will work within an experienced production team and will develop some of the necessary skills needed within a successful production team. The team produce medium and large-scale orders, focusing mainly on garment and homeware production. You will work within this team learning and developing the knowledge and skills required of production manufacturing, as well as learning new skills relating to up-cycling products and the management of waste materials and resources.

Your profile

With a qualification and/or experience in the area of Fashion, Tailoring or Garment construction and production, the successful candidate will bring to the role an ability to work independently, problem solve within a creative environment, with attention to detail within the technical process.
