Your role
Are you interested in becoming part of a dynamic legal team supporting one of the world’s largest asset managers? Are you interested in advising Swiss asset management and fund management companies on a wide range of legal issues and do you have practical legal experience in the asset management industry? Are you interested in the institutional asset management, product distribution and wholesale business and in taking charge of legal aspects of related activities?

We are looking for someone like you to join our team and to:

  • provide advice and guidance on all legal and regulatory aspects related to discretionary portfolio management and other asset management service types together with the distribution of investment instruments and sales-related topics
  • draft and negotiate legal documents in German and English (e.g. asset management agreements, distribution agreements)
  • research, and advise on all manner of legal and regulatory questions
  • analyze the impact that new regulations / self-regulations may have on business and clients
  • stay up to date with asset management regulatory developments across Switzerland and Europe
  • support strategic initiatives and projects

Your team
You’ll be working in the Swiss Asset Management Legal team, a highly motivated team of experienced lawyers, assisting UBS with the legal and regulatory obligations related to the funds or mandates they manage. We are an international in-house legal department with team members located in Zürich, Basel and Kraków. We pride ourselves on promoting a strong team work ethic and engaging in a collaborative manner with stakeholders and colleagues. We are responsible for advising colleagues in UBS Asset Management which is a leading fund house in Europe, the largest mutual fund manager in Switzerland and one of the largest fund of hedge funds and real estate investment managers in the world with over USD 1 trillion in invested assets.

Your expertise

  • experience in the financial services sector, preferably with experience in asset management
  • knowledge of the current legal and regulatory landscape and developments affecting the fund and asset management industry in Switzerland (preferred)
  • hold a master degree in Law; admittance to the bar is a plus
  • business fluent (in writing and verbal communication) as well as proven skills in drafting legal documents in German and English
  • hitting deadlines with good judgment and common sense
  • attentive to detail, well organized and highly responsive
  • working in a dynamic environment and prioritizing multiple tasks
  • result-oriented and assertive (you don’t shy away from challenging situations)
  • embracing innovation and new technology in the delivery of legal services
