Project title: Technical Assistance to operationalise the Capacity Building & Engagement Window of the “Enhancing Accountability” programme

Brief description of the project:

The purpose of this contract is to provide Technical Assistance (TA) to support the EU Delegation and National Treasury in the design, administration and implementation of the Enhancing Accountability Programme. This contract will enable the establishment and operationalisation of Component B of the aforementioned programme, namely the Capacity Building and Engagement Window.

Results to be achieved:

  • A fully functional and resourced facility – the Capacity Building and Engagement Window – is created to support civil society and Constitutional bodies.
  • The capacity of CSOs and Chapter 9 & 10 institutions is enhanced.
  • Opportunities are identified and created, and actions are implemented to enhance accountability and transparency in South Africa.
  • Dialogues and engagements between the public and private sectors, civil society and Constitutional bodies are enhanced.
  • The South African Government’s efforts to improve accountability and address corruption are strengthened through civil society participation.

Commencement date of the project: September 2022

Duration of the assignment: 48 months

Requirements:

Qualifications and skills

  • Bachelors’ degree in the fields of social sciences, monitoring and evaluation, performance management, communication or a related discipline.

General professional experience

  • A minimum of three years of project administration, finance and logistical management
  • A minimum of three years of experience in utilising various media and electronic platforms for information dissemination.
  • Demonstrated experience in organising events experience.

Specific professional experience

  • A minimum of three years of proven experience in the provision of capacity building activities to Civil Society Organisations, such as advisory services, facilitation, trainings, coaching or equivalent;
  • A minimum of two experiences in developing and utilising project monitoring plans;
  • Knowledge of EU procurement rules will be an advantage.
