The position is to be filled as soon as possible and is initially limited to up to two years. Employment location will be Bonn, Germany. Following a period of several months in Bonn, an assignment in a non-European Welthungerhilfe project country is foreseen.

As Junior Expert you will support Welthungerhilfe’s Institutional Donor Relations Unit in the acquisition, planning and processing of institutional funding – especially in the application and reporting process. Through your work you will contribute to ensure long term financing of development programmes. In addition, you will gain insights into strategic planning of the Institutional Donor Relations Unit and into the project work of Welthungerhilfe worldwide.

Your responsibilities

  • Support in assuring quality of applications and reports for institutional donors
  • Support in handling of institutional grants, in particular from German donors
  • Creation of best practice solutions and support of knowledge management for the development of project and programme proposals
  • Support of the strategy development of Institutional Donor Relations
  • Participation in thematic working groups within the programme department

Your profile

  • A university or polytechnic degree in social sciences, development policy, international relations, economics or a related field
  • Initial experience in the planning and implementation of development cooperation or humanitarian aid measures, for example within the framework of an internship
  • Sound ability of editingtexts and reports
  • Good coordination and organisational skills
  • Team spirit and good communication skills
  • Ability to work in an intercultural environment and to cooperate with colleagues from other countries and cultures
  • Very good command of spoken and written German and English; French language skills would be ofgreat advantage
