Accounting Assistant Responsibilities:
· Providing support to the Accounting Department.
· Performing basic office tasks, such as filing, data entry, processing the mail, etc.
· Handling communications with clients and vendors via phone, email, and in-person.
· Preparing financial reports.
· Assisting with audits, fact checks, and resolving discrepancies.
· Assisting with ROC compliances
· Knowledge preferable in documentation and issue of share certificates, inward and outwards remittance (foreign currency), investments, etc.,
· Knowledge of statutory requirements such as GST, IT, PT, PF, ESIC, etc
· Ensuring payments, amounts, and records are correct.
· Working with spreadsheets, sales, purchase ledgers, and journals.
· Recording and filing of all transactions in tally
· Invoice processing and filing.
· Processing expense requests for the accountant to approve.
· Bank reconciliation.
· Reconcile invoices and identify discrepancies
· Create and update expense reports
· Process reimbursement forms
· Prepare bank deposits
· Maintain digital and physical financial records
· Issue invoices to customers
· Requirements
· Work experience as an Accounting Assistant or Accounting Clerk
· Knowledge of basic bookkeeping procedures
· Familiarity with finance regulations
· Good math skills and the ability to spot numerical errors
· Hands-on experience with MS Office and accounting software (e.g. QuickBooks & Tally)
· Organization skills
· B.Com with 1-2 years experience in the accounts department.
