At ActionAid Arab Region, we work with grass-root organizations and civil society actors that have a strong focus on youth and women in local governance. The national campaign is a youth-led campaign that seeks to contribute to change the negative perceptions about Jordanian young women and men, as well as, to raise awareness among youth about the importance of civic and political engagement, which will be through their participation in the leading, planning, and implementation of the campaign’s activities.

Scope of the consultancy:

The selected candidate will be in charge of providing a training program to train young people on film making, campaigns, and facilitation, in Jordan. The consultant will work directly with youth in which:

  • Participants gain a better understanding of the filming process.
  • Should become capable of creating campaign out of short videos.
  • Ability to facilitate sessions
  • The ability to create and write content
  • Proposed ideas and an action plan show creativity.

  • In Addition, to that, the consultant will provide mentorship to the end of the project

Skills and competencies :

Gain the skills and knowledge of the pre-production, production, and post-production phases in the filmmaking process.

  • Be able to work within a cooperative team.**
  • Be able to generate, manage and develop ideas, content, and scripts.
  • Understand how campaigns work through films.
  • Aware of the digital content sensitivity.
  • Discover the roles of the filmmaking crew members and have practice activities.
  • Produce exercises and transfer the idea to short films format.
  • Ability to work with youth especially youth in marginalized communities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in filmmaking/ media / or another relevant field.
  • Sufficient knowledge of visual storytelling, filmmaking tools.
  • Previous experience in working as a trainer on film making campaigns, and facilitation
  • Technological Expertise – or at the very least, a very solid working understanding of the latest filming technology and software.
  • Written and Visual Storytelling skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills to be able to relate to people of diverse backgrounds.
  • Ability to produce short videos.
  • Previous related work experience no less than five years, preferably in the filmmaking and campaigns field.
  • Good English writing and communication skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure.
  • Ability to work independently and creatively.

Deliverables

  • Based on the outcome of the training to produce 5 short films.
  • Each governorate should create a one-year action plan.
  • Conduct 10 days of training.
