What You Will Do

The Building Technologies & Solutions (BT&S) EMEALA business in Johnson Controls International has more than one million customers and consists of field-based installation and service businesses. We are the industry leader in the region on sustainable building solutions helping our customers meet their carbon footprint reduction targets.
The IT Director leads overall IT engagement within the business and is accountable for the successful delivery of all associated IT services and investments in their area of responsibility. This role reports directly to the CIO/ Vice President of IT for EMEALA with a strong informal dotted line to the Vice President of the BT&S business for Continental Europe.
How You Will Do It
IT Director manages the IT activities for areas of security, fire protection, building controls and HVAC systems (inc. Service and Install)
Take ownership of creating the vision, developing the IT strategy, leading the project portfolio, and implementing the plans to deliver the business capabilities
Work closely with the other regional IT Directors sharing and embracing the best methods across the region and contributing to the overall success of the IT function
Provide leadership on strategic direction, bring the “outside in” view on technology and innovations that will build significant value for the business
Facilitate the process to collect and define business requirements, providing expert advice and recommendations on industry trends, crafting roadmaps to achieve the long-term and short-term capability needs, and performing analysis of business or system processes to identify areas of improvement
Lead and influence cross-function teams experienced in critical business processes and enabling technologies
Serve as a single point of IT accountability to the business, and a single voice of business demand for IT services
Participate in Steering Committees, Operating Committees, or Agile Program Increment Events to guide activities, make trade-off decisions, remove roadblocks, unify business and IT communities and last but not least, support risk management, regulatory compliance, Information Security, and audit remediation activities
Required
What we look for
Proven IT leader with a successful track record in coordinating all aspects of IT for a large business or function (strategy, people, financial and operations management experience)
Experience of working in Europe within a large corporate matrix structure
Exposure to working with European works councils
Solid background in ERP systems deployment and convergence across businesses.
An accomplished people manager with good communication, presentation, and leadership skills
Involvement in business transformation program planning, creating and launching business value-generating initiatives
Willingness to travel to various sites across Continental Europe
Preferred
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Engineering; Master’s in Business Administration or Technology Management preferred
Experience in a similar industry
Knowledge of deploying Sales Force and Service Max platforms
Overview of Oracle Fusion, Oracle Service Cloud and Oracle Field Service platforms
Business Relationship Manager Professional training and certification from BRM Institute
Proficient in German
