Help – Hilfe zur Selbsthilfe e.V. is a non-profit, independent organization, which was founded on the occasion of the war in Afghanistan in 1981 and is now active worldwide. With an annual project volume of 35 million Euro, Help provides rapid assistance in the event of disasters and sustainable reconstruction for and with people in need, especially in Africa, Asia and Europe.

As a globally operating humanitarian aid organization, Help receives funding and the highest recognition from national and international donors and is committed to the national and international standards of humanitarian aid as well as the transparent use of funds and impact monitoring.

Scope of position: Full-time (39h/week)

Place of work: Ukraine

Contract duration: Initially limited to 2 year

Reporting duty: Program Coordinator HQ Bonn

To strengthen our team, we are looking for a

Country Director Ukraine (m/f/d)

at the earliest possible date.

Would you like to take on a responsible task with sense? Then support us in the following areas:

• Overall leadership, strategic management and continuous development of Help’s emergency relief and reconstruction projects in Ukraine
• Coordination and management of the Help team in Ukraine
• Representation of Help towards national and international donors of Help projects in Ukraine
• Project acquisition with national and international donors
• Close and trustful cooperation with local partner organisations of Help in Ukraine
• Cooperation with authorities and organisations at national and local level in Ukraine
• Systematic and high-quality implementation of projects
• Close cooperation with Help headquarters in Germany

Convince us by:

• University degree in a relevant field of study or many years of relevant professional experience in one or more areas of international humanitarian aid/development cooperation/international cooperation (or similar).
• Several years of experience in the development and implementation of projects and programmes in international humanitarian aid / development cooperation
• Country experience in Ukraine/region an advantage
• Proven project management skills, excellent knowledge of project cycle management
• Experience in coordinating and leading international teams
• German and English – mandatory. Ukrainian/Russian language skills are an advantage.
• Strong intercultural skills and very good communication and networking skills.
• Ability to work result-oriented and independently even in stressful situations and to keep an overview of the project.
