What you’ll do

This role is within Powertrain Test Operations (PTTO), part of Engineering Operations (EO). The EDU Prototype Manufacturing Engineering (PME) Team is the key team that delivers the production lines to PTTO to enable building of prototype BEV commodities, powering the vehicles of the future.

This role will be directly influencing the Quality of the products that are delivered into our customers hands.

As we progress the technology within our vehicles, its vital that the prototypes we produce are to specification and quality. This delivers the invaluable data to the engineering teams enabling us to produce the incredible products we aspire to deliver to our customers.

Key Accountabilities And Responsibilities
Bill of Sequence/ Bill of Process (BoS/BoP)
FMEA analysis and control plan creation
Specification of machines to meet engineering requiremenets
Design of floor layout
Timing plan and commissioning plan to deliver all components
Alignment to volume line process with appropriate validation of volume processes
Control of the budget for your relevant area of control
Delivery of a safe working environment for operation teams
Set and apply objectives for any attached team member, leading them to the completion of our objectives.
Ensure any members of your team are motivated and supported in personal development.
Maintain department records for audit purposes

What you’ll need

Essential:
Clear and confident communicator both orally and in writing 
Proactive attitude and willingness to learn new systems and processes 
Ability to challenge existing thinking in a positive way whilst building credibility and trust through experience and personal style 
Computer literate, including Microsoft Office and Excel competency to produce plans, reports, presentations, graphs, processes and SPL documents

Desirable:
A Level 6 qualification in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
