COOPI is looking for a Recruitment Officer to join the Human Resources Office at its HQ in Milan, Italy

COOPI – Cooperazione Internazionale is an Italian Non-Governmental Organization that fights against all forms of poverty to improve the world. It was founded in 1965 by Father Vincenzo Barbieri. Today COOPI is present in 33 countries across Africa, Latin America and the Middle East, with both emergency and development projects carried out by expatriate staff (an average of 150 people per year) and national staff. The main institutional donors are the European Union, UN agencies, the Italian Government, local authorities and other European Governments.

Description of the role

COOPI is looking for a Recruitment Officer for its HQ in Milan. This role will be responsible of the recruitment for both national and expatriate staff, as well as other activities related to the mandate of the Human Resources Area. The recruitment officer ensure a timely and qualitative implementation, guaranteeing the confidentiality of the processes.

Main responsibilities

The recrutiment officer will have the following responsibilities:

  • Guarantee constant update with the Regional Coordinators on the staff recruitment processes (new positions, replacements, retention, job rotation);
  • Monitor the contract’s expiration and collect feedbacks (both periodic and final evaluations);
  • Manage autonomously several activities related to staff research and selection cycle:

    • Publishing and monitoring of vacancies on national and international sites;

    • CVs Screening;

    • HR interviews with shortlisted candidates – in French, English and Italian – and drafting of interview reports;

    • Organization of technical tests;

    • Request and check of references;

    • Coordination with internal staff involved in the recruitment process (regional coordinators, technical focal points etc.) and sharing of documentation;

    • Notification of selection or non-selection to candidates who have taken part in the process;

    • Ensure correct archiving of complete documentation of the selection process in the HR database.

  • Provide support to Regional Coordinators, upon request, for national recruitments;

  • Regularly update and develop support tools to be used in the recruitment process (questionnaires, interviews, technical and role tests);

  • Collect end of mission debriefings from expatriate staff and organize exit interviews;

  • Conduct permanent selection interviews and regularly update the database;

  • Run the recruitment process for internal rosters of technical figures;

  • Participate in support activities for COOPI professional school;

  • Research and test new job posting platforms;

  • Provide support to periodic analysis of data for the monitoring and improvement of internal processes and tools;

  • Take proactive action in updating internal tools.

Requirements

Essentials

  • Educational background (graduate/post-graduate) preferably in the Humanities and/or International Cooperation;
  • Minimum 3 years of working experience in the field of human resources selection of personnel, also abroad;
  • Excellent command of Italian, English and French;
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to keep track of complex work plans and deadlines;
  • Excellent communication and relational skills with various internal and external interlocutors
  • Proven capacity to work in a team;
  • Flexibility, listening and confidentiality skills;
  • Resistance to stress;
  • Interest and attitude to work in an international environment;
  • Computer literate (MS Office);
  • Respect for the Organization’s values.

Desired

  • Previous recruitment experiences in Europe or in developing countries, especially in the field of international cooperation;
  • Previous experiences in international cooperation’s projects management in developing countries and knowledge of issues related to the sector.
