We are very excited to announce an opening for a student currently enrolled in a German university to join SimScale and work alongside our Senior Operations Manager to deliver impeccable IT support to SimScale’s employees.

Your Opportunity

As an IT System Administrator – Working Student (m/f/d) your mission at SimScale is to support us with maintaining our office and product infrastructure. With your help, we will make sure that everyone has IT infrastructure available that makes their job as easy and enjoyable as possible. This ranges from basics like provisioning and managing personal computers (Linux, Windows and MacOS) to topics like setting up new workspaces, onboarding new team members or maintaining our hardware inventory. You should also be both able and eager to educate users on matters such as security or how to use our infrastructure.

What We Expect From You

  • Enrolled in a course of studies in computer science or a comparable degree, or other relevant experience, especially with focus on system infrastructure or security
  • Helpful, people-oriented, ownership mindset: you feel responsible for keeping infrastructure running, enabling users and keeping them happy, and continuously looking for the next improvements
  • Hands on experience in maintaining Linux and Windows machines (configuration, troubleshooting)
  • Very solid skills with provisioning and managing Linux, Windows and MacOS systems
  • Experience managing mobile devices (Android and iOS)
  • Basic skills in a scripting or programming language
  • Fundamental understanding of networking (troubleshooting, maintenance)
  • C1+ Level English
  • Based in Munich and able to work from our office 3 days per week
