IT Intern

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:A successful candidate will perform a variety of duties related to supporting the GoTriangle IT Department to include opening and tracking tickets in the help desk tracking software, providing hardware diagnostics/repair for desktop and laptop PCs, providing remote diagnosis and resolution of problems in the area of hardware, applications, and operating systems; assisting with hardware/software upgrades, and supporting network printers, copiers, and fax machines.Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Must have awareness of PC hardware components, desktop operating system software, application software and hardware.Must be a current student pursuing a 2 year or 4 year degree in Information Technology /Computer ScienceMust have awareness of PC industry’s current and emerging technology trends and direction, as well as a keen interest in computer-based information systems and technology and should pose excellent analytical skills as well as the ability to troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software problems.Must have the ability to research and understand technical documentation, and an understanding of how to apply various technical resources.Ability to perform tasks such as providing operating systems and application software installations and upgrades and virus protection. Able to interact effectively with management, staff and other GoTriangle personnel, and work independently, and/or as part of a teamInterest in and ability to provide adequate documentationBasic Skills: Foundational computer networking knowledge including TCP/IP, LAN/WAN, routing and switching, basic knowledge of PC systems, hardware and peripherals, basic knowledge of Windows 10/2012 r2/2012/2016 platforms, MS Office 2013/2016 or higher Office Suites, basic knowledge of Web technology and Computer Programming Languages.Working Conditions:Work environment is a combination of indoor office environment and outdoor facilities.
