Job Summary:
Eligible candidates must be available to work a minimum of 12 hours a week during regular business hours of 8 am – 4:30 pm (Monday – Friday).
Information Technology interns will be assigned to a team within IT based on their skills, experience, interests, as well as current business needs. Interns will work on assigned projects while benefiting from healthcare IT experience and close collaboration with knowledgeable professionals and technology leaders. Additionally, interns will support the IT staff with software, hardware and other technology tasks and issues. They will have the opportunity to attend virtual team and department meetings.
Interns must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
Responsibilities
Job Expectations:
Under general direction and guidance from IT resources, deliver on assigned tasks, which could include:
- gathering, analyzing, and documenting business requirements, procurement and deployment of new software and hardware.
- Understand the business issues that need to be solved and assist in identifying potential solutions.
- Develop working knowledge in systems, processes and data relating to the assigned area or project. Continually improve analysis skills via on the job learning and best practices.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with technology teams and business partners. Work effectively in a team environment to ensure that solution delivery is on time, within cost estimates and meets business needs.
- Fairview will provide a laptop to each intern to use during the duration of their internship. The intern is responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of information gained as a result of internship.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Required
Education
- Enrolled as a full-time or part-time student pursuing a Bachelor’s or Associate degree with a minimum 3.0 Cumulative GPA
- Completing a degree in one of the following: computer science, math, management information systems or business management
Experience
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Excel, Power Point, Word, Visio)
- Community and/or campus involvement
- Ability to quickly adapt to a changing environment
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills
- Naturally inquisitive and self-motivated to find solutions

Experience
Preferred
- Experience within the healthcare industry
- Previous IT Internship experience
- Technical skills including software development lifecycle
- Demonstrated leadership, strong initiative, and decision-making skills
