Through a collaboration with GOPA Middle East, the SRTF seeks to hire motivated, self-driven individuals to fulfil leading roles of IT Help Desk

Timeframe of Assignment: Long-Term Contract
Location: Gaziantep / Turkey

Background: The Syria Recovery Trust Fund (SRTF) was established for the financing of reconstruction activities to rebuild the country and alleviate the suffering of the Syrian people as a result of the ongoing conflict. The SRTF was created to provide the international community with a vehicle to offer financial support to the National Coalition for responding to the needs of the Syrian people.
The Management Unit (MU) was established to manage the Fund and its allocations to projects addressing reconstruction, recovery, and stabilisation to alleviate the suffering of the Syrian people.

Objectives:
The primary objectives of the IT Help desk are:
• To provide timely and efficient support for resolving IT-related issues.
• To maintain and improve the quality of IT services.
• To assist in the effective use of IT resources and applications.

Key Responsibilities:
The key responsibilities of the IT Help desk support include but are not limited to:
• Configure and deploy new workstations and laptops with all needed software and troubleshoot, repair, update, and maintain them onsite or remotely.
• Assure that all software on staff equipment is licensed and record licenses.
• Set up and support audio/visual equipment for presentations, the CCTV system, and access-control devices.
• Install and configure peripherals, including scanners, external drives, monitors, etc.
• Removal/disposal of non-functional equipment and software.
• Monitor the network to ensure network functionality and availability to all system users.
• Installed, maintained, troubleshot, and repaired cabled, wireless, and network infrastructure.
• Troubleshoot and repair Windows accounts and email accounts.
• Guidance and troubleshooting for email and communication tools.
• Assistance with security updates and virus/malware issues.
• Track license and support contracts to include notification of renewal timeframe to the IT section head.
• Work directly with vendors to schedule repairs and maintenance.
• Follow up on the IT inventory tracking and the workstation relocation.
• Provide basic IT training to end-users on software applications and best practices.
• Check the implementation of the IT policy and the Clear desk policy.

Minimum Qualifications:
• Applicant must have recently graduated with a University Degree in IT Technology.
• IT Relevant professional certification shall be positively considered.
• Good written and verbal communication skills and capacity to work under pressure when necessary.
• Capacity to establish priorities, address IT issues and needs of staff, and take a leading role in problem-solving when the situation demands.
• Demonstrate trust and confidence in a multicultural environment and teamwork.

Languages:
• Proficiency in Arabic and A2 level in English or Turkish. Additional qualifications shall be positively evaluated if available:
• Knowledge of the current Syrian affairs.
• Understanding of environments in conflict and the tasks of emergency response actors and donors.
• Ability to work in multi-discipline project teams.

Personal Characteristics:
• Self-motivated, results-oriented, effective and team worker.
• Good communication skills and a keen sense of ethics and integrity.
• Able to initiate problem-solving tasks.

Reporting/Supervision and Guidance:
The incumbent shall work under direct supervision and report to the IT Section Head.
