Overview: DT Global is implementing a contract supporting USAID programs in the MENA region. Under this contract, the IT Consultant will support the Tunisia office operations on demand. The IT Consultant will work with DT Global’s Tunisia Operations team in Tunis to support all IT equipment installation and troubleshooting in correspondence to the internal safety and efficiency procedures in close collaboration with the IT team in the home office.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

Troubleshooting and Maintenance

  • Install and configure computer hardware, software, systems, networks, printers, and scanners
  • Monitor and maintain computer systems and networks
  • Respond in a timely manner to service issues and requests
  • Provide technical support across the organization (this may be in person or over the phone)
  • Set up accounts for new users
  • Repair and replace equipment as necessary
  • Test new technology
  • Possibly train junior staff
  • Prepare and set up IT support for employees
  • Assist with internet service and internet security
  • Ensure that each element of the office network is in good working order and data is protected from network attacks, hacker access, or data loss
  • Serve as a “Help Desk” to project staff, troubleshooting and solving IT problems encountered by staff on an ad hoc basis. When not on-site, the IT Consultant must be available during business hours for troubleshooting and assistance via phone.
  • Regularly ensure that office IT equipment is in good working order, including all hardware and software
  • Perform other services as required

IT Advisory, Consultancy, and Regular Site Support

  • Provide advice on the correct specs to use for upcoming IT purchases
  • Assist the operations team in the determination of the best value for equipment
  • Coordinate with the home-office on software updates, new system applications, as well as technology use assistance

General Consulting Services

  • Provide regular and timely notifications about changes in use regulations or guidance issued by technology providers for best equipment use
  • Provide guidance on IT best practices
  • Coordinate with the security department on the best equipment to use for office and data protection and advise the Tunisia operations team regularly

Education & Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Information Systems preferred
  • 3+ years of IT support experience in a Microsoft Windows Server Office 365 environment required
  • Possession of CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft certification preferred
  • Must possess comprehensive knowledge of the principles, methods, and techniques used in computer and network troubleshooting and support
  • Must be able to demonstrate a basic understanding of Local Area Networking (LAN) and TCP/IP concepts, specifically within a Microsoft Networking infrastructure
  • Experience in both PC and Mac operating systems preferred
  • Understand basic Information Technology security concepts (Antivirus, Spam blockers, etc.)
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent verbal communication skills and patience with users
  • Must be able to follow directions and work within a team environment
