NEAR is currently hosted by Adeso, an expanding and vibrant African based international development and humanitarian organization. POSITION PURPOSE

NEAR is hiring an IT and Data Officer to support the NEAR South-to-South Learning and Exchange online platform by providing technical support. Under the direction of the Learning and Knowledge Advisor and in close collaboration with the NEAR Secretariat, the IT and Data Officer will be responsible for creating new users, maintaining user access, and ensuring system functionality for the platform. The Officer will also be responsible for ensuring the online platform is properly configured for data security using the Azure environment. The Officer will create a plan for scalability of users with respect to data security and system functionality. The IT and Data Officer will also maintain the Yammer, Sharepoint, PowerBi, Dynamics, Teams, and MCT environments, and advise on best practices for tool usage.

SPECIFIC ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain PowerBi dashboard and create reports as needed

  • Maintain functionality of Microsoft MCT space, adding additional courses as available and ensuring user access, functionality; run analytics and inform the NEAR Secretariat on updates, changes;

  • Create additional organization users (1,000+), troubleshoot user access, and maintain overall functionality;

  • Maintain Sharepoint, Teams, Dynamics, and Yammer spaces, run analytics, and provide suggestions for improved functionality;

  • Develop best practices, and ensure full usage of tools including Teams, Sharepoint, Yammer, MCT, and PowerBi;

  • Use Azure to maintain security of platform.

  • Undertake other related functions and responsibilities which may be assigned by the Learning and Knowledge Advisor.

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Microsoft Certified

  • At least 3 years of relevant experience (or a Bachelor’s degree with 1 year experience).

  • Demonstrated technical skills in analyzing quantitative data.

  • High proficiency in Microsoft tools including Azure, PowerBi, MCT, Yammer, Sharepoint, Teams and/or other Microsoft tools.

  • Strong data visualization and analytic skills; experience with PowerBI, Tableau, or other data visualization software highly preferred.

  • Able to work independently, be flexible and comfortable in a multi-cultural work force.

  • Fluency in both written and spoken English. Other language skills a plus.
