Role: Investment Accountant

Location: Hartford, CT/Remote

Duration: 12 months

Our client, a large global Investment Bank, is looking to hire Investment Accountant for 8 months term.

Your New Company

An established global Investment Bank with presence in Hartford, CT. You will be working with global teams, with the chance to add a prestigious, known name to your resume.

Your Team

You’ll be working in the Portfolio Accounting and Reporting team based in Hartford, CT. This position has overall responsibility to support the client’s Global Real Estate US – Hartford Accounting team and activities.

Your New Role

  • The firm is embarking on a major technology initiative to replace the general ledger, revise processes, and elaborate reporting capabilities. This position will participate in this initiative.
  • Design and build reports over new general ledger to enhance analysis and simplify reporting requirements.
  • Depending on experience, have accounting and reporting responsibilities for assigned real estate investments.
  • The client’s Realty invests in various property types, often using complex investment structures.
  • Assist senior accountants with assignments, such as more complex real estate investments, fund reporting, and advanced analysis.
  • Assist in the preparation of various quarterly and annual reports.
  • Assist/lead on ad hoc projects, such as client requests and assisting on validating system data.

What You’ll Need to Succeed

You have minimum qualifications:

  • Undergraduate or graduate degree with a major in accounting (minor in computer and information systems is a plus)
  • 2+ years’ experience providing support for Yardi Voyager required
  • Demonstrated experience with technology, using technology to create reporting to enhance analysis required
  • 2+ years of public accounting experience or experience in real estate accounting
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Time management skills and efficient utilization of technology
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Proficient in MS Excel
