Job Title: Investigative Attorney

Salary: Depending on experience

Type of Position: Full time

Hours: M-F 9-5 pm and flexible

Job Description

Core duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Review and evaluate liability and insurance availability for the firm’s big injury and catastrophic injury cases
• Conduct investigations – collect and analyze evidence in order to determine all potential claims and liability, potential defendants, and insurance coverages
• Hire outside investigators to take recorded statements and/or do specialized investigation
• Conduct research
• Investigate facts of loss and research application of case law
• Analyze, manage, and review evidence to assess liability and determine case plan
• Analyze SWITRS data
• Run background searches on defendants (and social media searches)
• Obtain ownership information for vehicles, properties, and businesses
• Draft correspondence as needed (i.e., insurance letters, PRA requests and draft complaints)

Requirements

• Must be an attorney
• Must be comfortable with discussing cases with experts
• Must be creative and flexible
• Must work well with others and have strong communication skills
• Must work well under pressure
• Must communicate well in writing with attention to detail
