CONTEXT:

Within Humanity & Inclusion the Inclusion governance and humanitarian action unit, in charge of the Disability Gender Age policy roll out is looking for a trainer specialist with a strong knowledge of intersecting identities that cause discrimination and vulnerability in emerging countries.

In line with HI’s federal strategy, two/four-year technical strategies specific to inclusive governance & humanitarian action have been developed. The missions of IGHA cover a specific sector related to disability inclusion while establishing synergies with all HI technical sectors.

The trainer specialist will join the Inclusive Governance and Inclusive Humanitarian Action unit within the Protection & Risk Reduction Department.

OBJECTIVES:

The trainer specialist will identify and develop the training tools at the disposal of the operational teams for improving inclusive intersectionality approaches by:

  • Identifying specific training tools in link with HI policies and practices for the HI operation staff to have a better understanding of how to put intersectionality into practice (Gender, Age, …)
  • Developing an online & face to face training tools based on the HI documentations on intersectionality
  • Finalizing a guidance for field staff in the use of the existing DGA marker.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

With the team support, collaborating with other sectors’ specialists, the trainer specialist will:

  • Identify internal & external best practices related to intersectionality learning process and tools. (10%)

    • Desk review on intersectionality practices in the aid sector
    • Identify & select best practices and existing training tools
    • Organize an internal community of practice on the subject with field practitioners
    • Implement a watch on the best practices in the aid sector.
  • Developing an online and face-to-face training tools based on the HI documentations on intersectionality (50 %)

    • With the team assistance, based on relevant documentations on intersectionality (UNWomen, HI, etc.), develop an online training course for HI staff (level 1 sensitization for all practitioners)
    • Develop a face-to-face ToT, on intersectionality in practice, to be implemented by HI focal points in regions (3 days with practical exercises).
    • Test the training with HQ staff
    • Organize a first field test & adjust
    • Plan the promotion of the training by identifying field focal points to support the roll out of the training in HI programmes
  • Finalizing a guidance for field staff in the use of the existing DGA marker (30%)

    • Based on the existing DGA marker and previous guidance, insert the feedback provided by country teams to update the marker.
    • Adjust the guidance note on the use of the new DGA marker
    • Organize the promotion campaign for HI programmes & on-line workshops with field referent
  • Prepare a final report with recommendations on where HI staff stand with intersectionality and how to ensure the implementation moving forward.

DESIRED PROFILE:

  • You have a postgraduate education in a field related to andragogy, distance learning, training of trainers, ludo pedagogy, active pedagogy
  • You have minimum five years of experiences in link with training tools development showing successful results
  • You have experience in link with protection, intersectionality, such as gender, disability and age and especially abroad in low – middle income countries
  • You master conducting trainings for multi-cultural audiences, negotiation and representation
  • You have good written/ oral communication and autonomous by taking initiatives
  • You are fluent in English, French and/or Spanish will be a supplementary asset

CONDITIONS OF THE POSITION:

  • Type of contract : fixed-term contract
  • Status : executive
  • From 2500€ gross monthly, depending on experience
  • Mission location possibilities: France, Belgium, England, Luxembourg, Germany, Canada, US
  • Remote working position
