Internship on “Development of a Graph-based holistic patient model”

NEC Laboratories Europe (NLE) has been participating in several research projects in the biomedical field. AICCELERATE is a recent project focused on the development of Digital Twins of Hospitals with the aim of improving the patient flow and resource management. One of the main work packages consists of creating a holistic representation of the patients by using several available modalities from the pilot centers.

NLE is looking for an intern to carry out an internship at our premises in Heidelberg, Germany. The focus will be on using the internal GraphAI technology in order to complete the needed tasks.

The internship includes the following work items:

• Generation of Knowledge Graphs from multi-modal patient data
• Using GraphAI for creating latent representation of the patients from a Knowledge Graph
• Redaction of detailed reports on the activity

NEC Laboratories in Heidelberg (Germany) provides an excellent working environment supporting individual creativity as well as strong teamwork. Our working language is English.

Required Skills

• Knowledge of Machine Learning and Clinical data
• Hands-on experience with object oriented/functional programming languages (Python, Java, C/C++, OSGi)
• Familiarity with Knowledge Graphs and related AI-models
• Experience with clinical data is desired
• Team working spirit and good communication skills in English
