About Our Intern Program
Our competitive intern program offers interns exposure to the business world and a meaningful work experience. Interns are treated as valuable team members while learning from experienced professionals in a collaborative, fun and dynamic environment. Baird’s summer intern program activities include an Intern Welcome Event, professional development, networking with leaders and associates, and many other informal events. Our interns have the opportunity to use a Baird Cares Day, a paid day to volunteer in the community. They are also eligible to apply for scholarships. Our mentor program gives interns an opportunity to network throughout Baird and learn about all the areas of the firm.
Our HR Reporting & Analytics Team
Baird’s Human Resources team is dedicated to attracting, developing, engaging and retaining the best global talent to meet the firm’s mission of being a best place to work. Our HR Reporting & Analytics team manages, creates, and analyzes reports and data for the Human Resources department and for the firm. They work cross-functionally with leaders to create data analytics strategies, efficient processes, dashboards, and reports to gather valuable information used in making data driven business decisions.
Internship Location, Availability, and Hours:
Located in our Downtown Milwaukee office, the intern must be able to work part-time during the school semesters, 15-20 hours per week, and full time during the summer, 37.5-40 hours per week. We are seeking a local student who can start in May 2023.
As a HR Reporting Intern, You Will
- Support a variety of reporting and analytics projects throughout the year to help execute goals and fulfill requests
- Develop the expertise to be able to access data and report from Workday, including Workday report writing and editing
- Manage weekly, monthly, and other recurring reports that are sent to departments across Baird
- Support firmwide initiatives, such as United Way and United Performing Arts Fund, through reporting
- Work with and learn from other HR team members and leaders, leaders across the firm, and departments outside of HR to gain an understanding of other areas of the firm and how reporting and analytics help support business needs
What We Look For
- Current student pursuing a Bachelor’s degree; preferably in Human Resources, Business, Information Studies, Business Analytics, or related degree. Targeting May 2024 or later graduation date
- Strong writing and communication skills, exceptional organizational/time management skills and attention to detail, and the ability to juggle multiple priorities at one time
- A highly motivated, strategic, and analytical thinker and takes initiative to learn and contribute to the team
- Ability to work independently and within a team
- Possess a natural curiosity in understanding the application of technology and data to solve business problems
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products, including advanced knowledge with Excel
- Prior experience in an office setting preferred
