Responsibilities

Internship activities may include, but are not limited to, the following proposed projects:

• Electrical Engineering (PhysicalControls): Assist engineering staff on low, medium and high voltage projects, which may include project scoping, site visits, design, engineering calculations and as-built documents. Additional tasks may include developing standards for design and updating construction specifications and drawings.
• System Performance: Perform a wide range of analysis with focus on actual system operation and events to ensure the reliability of the Boswell systems. Work includes ensuring procedures are in place, accurate monitoring is available, and simulated and actual conditions align.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Must currently be enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited program with an expected graduation date between December 2023 and June 2025
• Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license as occasional travel may be required
• Candidates may be subject to assessment of skills, job match, or aptitude

DETAILS & DURATION OF INTERNSHIP:

• This internship will report in person to Cohassett, MN
• This role is expected to begin June 2023
• The internship will be full time during summer with the possibility of extending to a part time basis during academic terms up until graduation
• ALLETE will comply with college requirements
• Hours and duration are subject to change based on company needs
