The internship positions will be within our global Zurich Resilience Solutions (ZRS) advisory unit that offers risk engineering advisory services for customers and internal stakeholders like underwriters on global, regional, and local levels.

What You Will Do

Your role is to support in the development, and deployment of state-of-the-art risk assessment methods and tools in the context of our customers’ needs. We look especially for interns to support us in the assessment of natural hazards, climate change or environmental impairment risks. Your core responsibility is to source, analyze, and visualize data sets around hazards, exposures, and controls or to develop new ways on how to better assess risk. You will support us in the development of data-driven tools to support our customers’ operational and physical resilience.

Our scope of interest where you can apply your skills are:

  • Hazardous chemicals assessment and transition towards toxic free environment (e.g. REACH, ChemSec, ToxNot)
  • Circular Economy and related liability risks
  • Environmental Impairment Liability risk, like e.g. impact on biodiversity

What You Bring

  • Enrollment in a University/ Institute of higher education for the duration of the internship is mandatory
  • Expected education: bachelor ideally nearing completion of a Master in Environmental System Science
  • Background in environmental chemistry with experience in both academic and regulatory environments
  • Experience as cheminformatician working in Python, R, and SQL
  • Strong oral & written communication skills as well as MS Office applications
  • Language skills: Fluent written and spoken English is essential
  • You must be located in Switzerland
