Salary: £30,763 – £34,382 per annum, depending on experience + good range of benefits

Based: Hybrid working between the Milton Keynes office and home. (London based three days a week and 2 in Milton Keynes can be considered)

Job Purpose

This is an exciting role for someone to manage World Vision UK’s (WVUK) global portfolio across partner organisations – National Offices (NO) and Regional Offices (RO). The purpose of this position is to achieve change for the world’s most vulnerable children and support WVUK’s key stakeholders to deliver effective and strategic programme impact, income, and advocacy.

Experience of portfolio and matrix management, cross-cultural and cross-functional working is essential. Proven experience of successful programme management in developing countries and understanding of development theory, policy and practice are all key requirements.

Some of the key responsibilities you will have as Regional Portfolio Manager include:

  • Define, establish and manage WVUK relationships with WV National Offices (NO) and Regional Office (RO)
  • Lead WV UK engagement with programme support teams within NOs; engage with other World Vision Support Offices (SO) and World Vision International Global Centre (GC) to ensure coordinated support to NO & RO to monitor their strategy implementation and performance
  • Conduct field monitoring visits
  • Provide and coordinate specialist support for programme design, including technical support for non-institutional funding sources
  • Uphold WV UK’s fiduciary responsibilities through the review of all programming and financial progress reports, also ensure budget expenditure and implementation plans are in alignment with design
  • Develop / support the development of, and subsequent approval, of materials for sponsor communications, WVUK supporter and HMG advocacy, and major donor funding.
  • Facilitate strategic country and regional info sharing across WVUK to allow informed decision making on WVUK’s multiple investment opportunities
  • Collaborate with Strategic Partnerships team to support donor engagement, project identification and development, and donor visits.

Dependent on international travel guidelines, international travel up to 25% of the year will be necessary.

Other than the Regional Programme Unit, you will also be operating with other teams within the Policy and Programmes Directorate; Humanitarian and International Programmes Team, Programme Finance and Compliance, Policy, Technical Support and Communications and cross organisationally with the Strategic Partnership Department and the Public Engagement Team.

Externally you will engage with peer NGOs, donor institutions such as the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) and organisations who are operating within your designated region.
