International Income Accountant

Are you an experienced Finance professional looking to use your skills to redistribute fundraising income across the Amnesty Movement to support our human rights strategic goals?

ABOUT THE ROLE

You will be responsible for ensuring the international entities that make up the wider Amnesty Movement contribute the correct level of funds to the International Secretariat (our global head office). This will be completed through our redistribution model. You will achieve this through partnering with the international stakeholders across the Movement, developing financial reporting and analysis of Movement contribution to the International Secretariat, which will play a crucial role in maximising Amnesty’s Human Rights impact.

JOB PURPOSE

To support Amnesty International in achieving its growth ambitions through leading the preparation, management and reporting of the IS income budget and associated global income processes, including overview of the accounts receivable function.

ABOUT YOU

You will be a qualified accountant and have sound experience of financial reporting and analysis. You will be well organised, efficient, resourceful, and thrive on working in a dynamic environment and delivering to strict deadlines. You will have excellent communications skills, enabling you to support a wide range of stakeholders from different backgrounds and in varied geographical locations.

You will be an analytical thinker with a strong attention to detail but can also think strategically and challenge the status quo.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • To consolidate and analyze financial information of Amnesty International national entities to prepare, report and effectively manage the International Secretariat income budget, long term forecasts and associated risks
  • Calculate and communicate the contribution to the Amnesty International Secretariat the National Entities need to make to the Amnesty Budget through the distribution model.
  • Working with Fundraising colleagues to support and perform due diligence on Fundraising Investment Fund grants made by the International Secretariat to support Movement Income growth.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

Qualifications

  • A qualified account (ACA, ACCA, CCAB, or equivalent qualified)

Work Experience

  • Strong financial accounting and control experience
  • Language skills preferred (French, Spanish)
  • External and/or internal audit experience (desirable)
  • Systems experience – Microsoft D365 Finance & Operations (preferred)
  • Experience working in a similar role for a large international charity is desirable.
