Internal Control Officer (For Philippine Nationals Only)

JOB PURPOSE

The Internal Control Officer works independently and autonomously and is responsible for the performance of quality checks on the Controls Testing and Monitoring unit (CTM), ensuring that work performed maintains high quality standards at operational levels.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Independently performs quality checks on CTM on a continuous cycle
  • Checks that the work performed by staff under review properly follows and complies with ICRC procedures and test plan as agreed per service level agreement
  • Evaluates work performed by staff based on set criteria, e.g., quality, context, timeliness
  • Participates in the design, development and improvement of the quality checks methodology
  • Incorporates data analytics in the quality checks
  • Prepares a formal report to summarize results, findings and appropriate action plans
  • Presents the report to the management for resolution and monitoring of staff performance
  • Participates to the unit’s continuous improvement by providing recommendations to internal policies and procedures
  • Provides assistance to other CTM activities as necessary
  • Keeps up-to-date knowledge on latest internal guidelines, audit techniques and industry developments
  • Participates in functional groups that aim to achieve objectives of the unit aligned to its strategies
  • Completes relevant trainings determined necessary for the role
  • Actively participates in reflections that aim to improve efficiency and effectivity of the unit

SELECTION REQUIREMENTS AND PROFILE

  • Must have a university degree in accountancy
  • At least three (3) years of experience in internal or external audit
  • Experience in quality assurance audit is an asset
  • Qualification as a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), or equivalent is an asset
  • Excellent computer skills, knowledge of CAATs (IDEA caseware) is an asset
  • Fluent command of written and spoken English
  • Knowledge of other languages such as French, Arabic, Spanish or Russian is an asset
