ROLE PURPOSE

As key Risk and Internal Audit personnel, he/she is responsible for the overall assessment of risks and soundness of internal control systems, and compliance to government regulations affecting the Association and its operations. This includes ensuring that the Association’s Risk Matrix is up-to-date and policies and procedures are working effectively.

Monitors and evaluates organizational practices in order to promote operational efficiency/ effectiveness/economy/ethics (4Es); maintain accountability for results; ensure that funds are utilized in order to attain objectives and compliance with policies, laws, rules and regulations; report audit findings to the SC Philippines Chief Executive Officer, and dotted line to Board of Trustees (through the Audit & Risk Management Committee).

Monitors the policy and regulatory environment in all areas of operation and collaborate with relevant function/department leads to develop effective response and mitigation measures. Act as an independent and objective assessor of compliance and quality in the organization’s programmes.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

* Must have completed a degree in accounting, CPA is required. MBA is an advantage
* Must have at least 5 to 10 years work experience in risk management and internal auditing. INGO or NGO experience is an advantage.
* Understanding of working experience in development and emergency context is highly preferred.
* Has evident understanding of policies and procedures, means of identifying gaps and sound recommendation on how to improve.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to perform internal audit procedures on tight deadlines.
* Adaptable, flexible with a high level of work ethics.
* Understanding of Save the Children’s vision and mission and a commitment to its objectives; willing to adopt Save the Children methodology and framework in program implementation; abide by and implement Save the Children’s Eight Agency Policies including Child Safety.
