As a Software Engineering Intern in NantHealth Belfast, you will be a valued member of a small, agile, cross-functional team, working on exciting new features to further enhance our platform. You will get the chance to play with lots of cool tech like Docker, Kubernetes, Vue.js, .Net Core, and the Azure Cloud Platform, all delivered using CI/CD best practices. You will receive first-class mentorship from highly experienced engineers along with the chance to work on areas that you are interested in.

This 1-year internship is a great way to begin your career with a defining role in an innovative company which offers hands-on experience in an agile environment. Our team are an inquisitive bunch! Role Responsibilities:

• Work within a Lean Software Development framework to evaluate business requirements, identify user stories, test deliverables and estimation of delivery (as part of a feature team)
• Contribute to designing and developing new services and features on NantHealth’s enterprise portal platform
• Participate in technical discussions within the team during the full software development life cycle
• Assist in developing components using object-oriented design and implementation methodologies
• Strive to ensure all delivered software components adhere to internal practices and policies with respect to coding standards and unit testing
• Add to the continuous enhancement of NantHealth’s development processes through procedure improvement suggestions and the removal of obstacles
• Work alongside colleagues and collaborate in a team-based environment

Essential criteria:

• Currently studying for a bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science or related field
• Candidates should demonstrate an enthusiasm to acquire the knowledge of the technologies, IT concepts and applications needed for the position, as described above
• Experience of building positive working relationships within a team environment
• Proactive approach to problem solving, organized, with a high attention to detail
• Enthusiastic to learn and adapt to new technologies and processes

Person Specification:

• Good written, verbal, interpersonal and presentation skills
• A customer driven approach and good customer management skills
• Effective time management skills; able to set prioritized and be flexible in a changing environment.
• Well organized and disciplined with regards procedure and standards.
• Ability to report and work accurately and according to agreed timelines.
• The ideal candidate must be pro-active and self-motivated with the ability to identify problems, causes and apply solutions.
