Internship

This internship is within the research team of Oxfam Novib which sits in the Learning Innovation and Knowledge unit. The main objective of the intern is to support developing evidence synthesis of local research happening in two big programmes, Masarouna and Fair for All.

Masarouna mobilizes the power of young people in the Middle East and North Africa so they can claim their sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR). We work with and for young people, and together we forge new pathways through influencing and strengthening civil society.

Fair for All contributes to building and strengthening Civil Society capable of creating space and mobilizing people to demand and contribute to more inclusive and sustainable trade and value-chains that respect human rights, protect the environment, and promote women’s economic empowerment. It is implemented in 14 countries, 2 regions and a has a global influencing component in partnership with SOMO, TWN Africa, Huairou Commision and the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The research team supports both programmes in evidence synthesis as part of their learning strategies.

Tasks and responsibilities

  • Analyze local research projects or material and formulate overarching lessons learned on a variety of themes relating to the two projects.
  • Write evidence synthesis reports and create short, engaging, and interactive content around it.
  • Assist with preparing meetings / webinars (offline and online) to share the developed content.
  • Support the research team to track how the content is perceived and used within the programme.

Your profile

  • Currently a Masters’ degree student in a relevant study.
  • Very good command of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Power Point, Excel and Word), and ideally also with software to create creative content (e.g. to create infographics.
  • Experience with analyzing qualitative data.
  • Good communication skills in English, verbal and written, can present well in English.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • A good understanding of organizational communication processes.
  • Highly motivated, result-oriented and are a team player.
  • Willing to learn and share your knowledge with others.

Our offer

An intern in Oxfam Novib is offered an internship contract for the duration of the internship based on 36 hours work week, pro-rated in case of less hours, and a monthly allowance. This allowance is

€450, – per month, calculated pro rata. If the intern does not have a student OV card, a reimbursement of commuting costs will be offered. Oxfam Novib works on hybrid basis – partly from office, partly from home.

During the internship, the intern is supervised, overarching by the Research Coordinator and daily/weekly by a designated colleague.
