Global Witness

About the Internship

The Corporate Accountability team are working to hold companies to account for delaying and derailing the urgent action we need to tackle the climate crisis. Our goal is to support an EU law to provide an effective mechanism for protecting people and the planet from corporate abuse.

Your role will involve identifying and implementing strategic communications and campaigning opportunities. You will be conducting research, producing briefing materials for policy experts as well as scoping potential future opportunities that can help maximise our impact.

You will work on a hybrid model for the duration of the internship with at least 20% of your time in the Brussels office.

You will be expected to work 4 days per week over a period of three months. You will be allocated a manager who will support you and provide opportunities to maximise your learning and experience with us.

This internship does not guarantee employment with Global Witness after the scheme is completed.

About you

You will have a passion for learning and be keen to understand more about holding companies accountable for their actions to tackle climate breakdown. You’ll bring your creativity as well as any previous campaigning, research and/or communications experience.

You will be an excellent communicator and, as a committed team player, you will thrive in an environment that values collaboration.

Finally, you will be deeply committed to Global Witness’ aims – and excited about working to make our goals a reality.

Working for us

We offer competitive benefits including 23 days annual leave (this will be pro-rated for the length of the internship and excludes Public Holidays).

This role is based in Brussels and therefore to be considered for this role you must be able to provide proof of eligibility to work in Belgium. We are currently trialling a new hybrid working model for 2022 that requires staff to be in the office at least 20% of their time, but this may change in the future.

Global Witness has a talented team of people worldwide with offices in London, Washington DC, and Brussels. We aim to be a diverse and inclusive place to work. We value new perspectives, original ideas and different ways of working. We believe that diverse views and experiences improve the way we do our work. We do our best to make our jobs accessible to all regardless of gender, ethnicity, age, disability, sexual orientation or identity.
