Job Introduction

We are seeking an Interim Head of Services to develop and deliver a diverse portfolio of services, and extend our reach, for people living with diabetes. This includes managing and developing our physical activity community place based offer as well as our internal support for other teams events. This includes the UK’s leading diabetes professional and academic conference. This is a new senior role in the operations directorate and is a member of the services leadership team. You will work across the services team, and provide operational leadership to support and develop the team to offer new impactful services. This is an exciting time to join Diabetes UK to help shape our offer within our new strategic outcomes framework which is set out in our “A generation to end the harm strategy” 2020-2025.

Role Responsibility

You will be responsible for leading and supporting an experienced and diverse team to evolve and grow our services to improve the lives of people living with diabetes. One of the key parts of the role is to develop our capability in developing service models and expanding our reach, and in co-creation and engagement with people with diabetes, as we are passionate about addressing and tackling inequality and ensuring our services make a difference.

The Ideal Candidate

Ideally you will have experience of developing and managing a range of national digital and face to face services in the voluntary sector in a health and care setting. Not only will you be able to evidence your approach to impact and outcome measurement, and how you used this to develop and evolve services, you will also be able to evidence your excellent project management skills too. Comfortable operating strategically and operationally, you will bring new insight and ideas to our service offer. With a proven record of securing new funding and leading high performing teams and working across an organisation you will share our passion that everyone deserves to live well and longer with diabetes.
